To find this out, you first have to have a common denominator, which is 16 due to it being the least common denominator. You then multiply the 5 by the number that it takes to make the 8 into 16 and multiply the 8 by the same, giving you a new problem of (10/16)+(11/16) You can then add the numerators together, keeping the denominator to get an answer which is: 21/16. Since 16/16=1, 21/16 is greater than one. And, since you did not divide in finding this out, you can describe it as such
