Im not using ubuntu righ now. I remember that you can install software with a GUI interface (very much like Windows). Go to applications in the bar. At the bottom there is a subitem that allows you packets. You can find dictionary, games, etc. Much much more than windows

install Ubuntu tweak......A small tweak application for Ubuntu........ It will help you a lot............ Google it .....download it....install it.....Use it.......

you can find free and open source software at http://www.sourceforge.net , i believe you will find almost everything you need
