What are the dimensions of love or what is it?
Love is a mental bonding of male and female humans produced in order to ensure the long term survival and education of their young. Or at least that's my theory. In reality I think love is when two people meet that like each other so much that they want to be as close to each other as they can. But love is different for each person, for each relationship and it can work in so many different ways. I feel love is a balance between two people, that hopefully makes them both happy. However this is combined with the extreme compulsion to stay together, to protect, which I believe is biological in origin and doesn't always result in 'happy' or 'healthy' relationships.
Many kinds of love exist. The love between a mother and child has different dimensions than the love between two 'partners'---man and wife in marriage or two in a committed relationship. Having mutual respect and similar life values strengthen and build a caring, supportive love between two people. I'm lucky and thankful to be in love and to share life together with another person---its high, fun experiences as well as life's challenges and low, sad points. Some people have their closest loving relationship with a pet and treasure that communication and care between the two of them. What dimensions do you think are associated with love?
