9383 = -1777x +27153

9383 - 27153 = -1777x

-17770 = -1777x

Divide the the left side by the coefficient on the right side to find out the answer is 10. 10 years

It's NOT tough, just plug $x=6$ and $x=8$ for 2006 and 2008 respectively ans solve for y. To find the year at which the deaths were 9383, plug $y=9383$ and solve for x, and then add 2000 to that value of x; that would be the year.
