I need help with adding and subtracting fractions

The key is to make sure you have common denominators.

GIive the equivilent numerator if the denominator is \[x ^{3}y ^{2}\] \[2/xy ^{2}\]

If I understand the question, then the answer would be: 2x^2

In order to get from xy^2 to x^3y^2, you must multiply by x^2. So, I multiplied the numerator by x^2 to get the answer.
