This is a question that deals with the order of operations.  Have you been told about PEMDAS?

Ok.  Well, you have to do the addition in the parentheses first, then when you get those terms, multiply them together.  Last, you add on the 281.

PEMDAS = Parentheses, exponents, multiplication/division, addition/subtraction.  It's the order you do operations in.
