how do I write scientific notation from the keybaord? how do I make 2 raised to the 4thpower?

first type \ [ and \ ] without the space. in between those brackets you can type latex. 2^4 is 2^{4} in latex:

\[2^{4}\]

use the ^ sing to indicate power. It is on the same key as number6

2 raised to power 4 can be written as 2^4
