I feel like I'm missing a key ingredient. I've been totally stumped by all the assignments (in part due to not having taken any math classes in a decade). Where are you guys finding the various syntax elements to use in the code? Most of the answers I'm seeing everyone post are things I would have never come to on my own, nor gleaned from the lectures.
The syntax i use is mostly from the lecture...if i dont find an appropriate syntax to do a thing , i do some research in the readings part...or take it from here :)
the readings are here http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-00-introduction-to-computer-science-and-programming-fall-2008/readings u cAn also try pythons documentations at http://docs.python.org/tutorial For the maths part , take some lectures at khan academy if u need http://www.khanacademy.org
I am in exactly the same boat, having not done anything in maths since I left high school. I have had some trouble with the maths but am making my way through. Do start studying maths too, at khan academy sunu put link. What in particular are you struggling with now? If we have a more concise question we can perhaps help you better, rather than the general.
definitely need t read. work thru the tutorial posted above
Most of the math in the problems appears difficult at first but generally pretty simple even if you are not a math whiz. I think it is often intimidating because one is not familiar with the terms. I haven't taken any maths higher than algebra and that was very long ago but a quick search on google and a little patience usually works just fine.
Wow! I've not done any of the readings and I'm on ps 10, I didn't know they existed! I think I would have had a much easier time if I had read up a bit though. Still, if you need a particular function, the python wikibook is a great place to search different syntax styles
im right there w/ u pnkchd. I just remembered the readings and stuff, and I'm on ps8.... :/
For me..anything i don't get. bwCA and joz are great sources of knowledge.. :p
amen to that
