Find the area of a regular hexagon with the given measurement. 2 sqrt3 apothem A =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The side of a regular hexagon is\[(2/\sqrt{3})a\]where a is the apothem. The formula for the area of any regular polygon is\[A=(1/2)nsa\]where n= number of sides (6), s = the length of the sides (see above) and a = the apothem. So, in your case \[s=(2/\sqrt{3})(2/\sqrt{3})=4/3\] Plugging everything into the formula above...\[A=(1/2)(6)(4/3)(2/\sqrt{3})=8/\sqrt{3}=(8\sqrt{3})/3\] I would suggest you memorize the area formula...it will be useful
