Can someone explain: -5(2c +d) i DONT want the answer, i need an explanation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

an explanation on how to distribute the negative 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just the entire problem in general

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well technically it's not a problem...or an equation because it's not being equalled to anything. what you would do is just distribute the negative 5... so multiply (-5) and (2c), which is -10c...then (-5)(d)=-5d...so the total outcome is just (-10c-5d)
