Two angles, <7 and <8, are both complementary to <9. If the measure of <7 is 61, what is the measure of <8?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

complimentary angles just means that they add up to 90. so if <7 and <8 are complementary, that means that <7 + <8 = 90...so 61 + x = 90.... x = 29

OpenStudy (anonymous):

manjoeso you are actually wrong ... since <7 and <9 are compl. <7 + <9 = 90, therefore <9 is 29.. but since <8 and <9 are also compl. this means that <8 + <9 = 90..therefore <8 is in fact =61=<7
