I'm in high school and looking to get into computer science. Have the basics of the latest HTML/CSS techniques down...Is this a good course to introduce to higher level programming?
if you want to go in web designing then your next step would be to learn javascript , it is very easy and useful. After that you can go for asp.net or php .
This class might be kind of hard depending on where you are in high school... But I think its a great intro to the thought processes involved with programming. Worth a try no? There is no time limit:)
In my perspective this course fits perfectly to start learning programming. And the Python is one of the best languages to start with. As blackarrow mentioned it might be a little difficult, but there is nothing impossible. By the way as you may know HTML and CSS are not programming languages. Unfortunately HTML/CSS expertise will be completly useless for programming.
thanks for the advice...and yeah, I know HTML is only a markup language and CSS just gives style to the pages. Nonetheless, I definitely need to learn those so that the programs have somewhere to go when they are ready for WWW action. haha. Oh, and @blackarrow, I am going into Sr. year and I have started the course, I think it's great. It's similar to calculator programming which I have been doing since sophomore year.
