the ratio of quarters to nickels is 2 to 5. if the total value of all the coins is 4.0 how many coins are there

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well 2q = .50 and 5n = .25 so .75 cents per ratio it doesnt work out evenly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im sorry its 4.50 not 4.0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok that works out lol... 4.50/.75 = 6 so 6 x 7 coins in the ratio = 42 coins total

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that makes sense i just dont know where you got .75?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its the total amount per ratio 2quarters + 5nickels = .75
