Simplify the expression 10x+y- (10x+y)+7 And explain alittle please. The Order of how you came to your answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[10x+y-(10x+y)+7\] step one the distributive law with the "-" sign \[10x+y-10x-y+7\] step two is put like terms next to each other, which is unnecessary but i will do it anyway \[10x-10x+y-y+2\] and step 3 is to combine like terms to get \[0+0+ 7=7\]
