is the x in numberator?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

numerator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it just sais 1/2 x - 2/3 = 1/6 what does x mean?

myininaya (myininaya):

\[\frac{1}{2}x-\frac{2}{3}=\frac{1}{6}\] lets get rid of the denominator by multiplying by 6 on both sides \[3x-4=1 => 3x=5 => x=\frac{5}{3}\]

@myininaya: How do you enter fractions, I mean as numerator above denominator?
