I need help again with linear algebra. Satellite if you are on some easy question, forward me there and take a look at this. This goes for anyone who knows linear algebra, PLEASE!
Here is the question
I don't think that's so bad.
Just show they are equal.
show what's equal?
Shoot, I gotta go look at my book.
Ok which book are you using?
this is not from the book but we're using matrix analysis and applied lin algebra by Meyer
U = u1 u2 u3 u4
and V is similar
U times V equals u1v1 + u2v3 , etc...
in your case A and B not U and V sorry
you follow so far? just basic matrix multiplication
yes
ok, so if you take the inner product of A and B, it's just like matrix multiplication
and if you take the trace of A^TB, you should get the same answer
because if you take the inner product of AB, you'll get a1b1 + a2b2 etc
Um..think you have to do the same thing as on that other question, prove the 3 or 4 definitions, positivity etc.
actually that's what im doing right now estudier.. proving the 3 definitions..
and if you take the trace of A^TB, you are just adding up the diagonal entries of the product of A^TB
<A|A> is greater than or equal to 0 <A|A> = 0 iff A = 0
I love linear algebra.
I hate it.. I loved ODE!
ODE were so boring to me.
I love vector algebra and vector spaces and get along quite nicely without linear algebra (ie the basis, matrix, proving stuff).
All those formulas, no proofs. Ugh.
See I love formulas, I hate proofs lol we're opposite..
Well, I'm a math major, so I like to know the why.
Especially when the proofs are of the A = A variety...:-)
usually with the A=A variety, it's just something simple, but we overthink it.
I'm a math major too..
don't know why i picked it.. i mean for me it was the fastest way to get outa college..
Well, good luck. :)
thanks =)
u 2!
