Do you know the definition of sample space? Let's start with that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i do not :( explain ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sample space means set of all possible outcomes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i let smoothmath take it from here and be quiet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The sample space is a list of all possible outcomes. If I flip a coin, the sample space is {heads, tails}. If I roll a die, the sample space is {1,2,3,4,5,6}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hahaha you're good Sattelite.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 8 /? because theirs 8 letters?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If I flip two coins, the sample space is {heads heads, heads tails, tails heads, tails tails} Get it? It's not just the number of possible outcomes. It's actually a list of all the outcomes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they did not ask "how many elements in the sample space" if they did you would be correct.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Of course, for your quiz, I don't know the notation they want you to use.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think they just want you to list them. i have to say this is one of the more idiotic questions i have seen even for plato

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha :( im forced to do them .. and i still dont understand do i add each letter plus 7?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

64?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no dear, just list the letters don't confuse yourself it is just the 'possible outcomes'

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im really confused guys im sorry if i sound like a dummy :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

theirs 8 letters?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the sample space is the 8 letters. this question is too stupid for words which is why you are confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like saying "if i roll a die what is the sample space?" and the answer is 1,2,3,4,5,6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the answer isss? ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H

OpenStudy (anonymous):

"What is the sample space?" is the same question as "What different things can come up when I spin the spinner?"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you said 8 to that question, I would look at the spinner and ask you to point to the 8.
