a parabola is a basic shape of a function that they teach you to introduce you to functions in R2. Parabolas will be in the form of y=ax^2+bx+c The main variable here is a which will; effect wether your parabola opens up or down.

also c will be the y intercept... to solve for x intercepts set y=0 and factor the remaining polynomial
