When solving x2 – 12x = –13 by completing the square, what value is added to both sides of the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

seriously? Ok, to complete a quadratic equation, you want to make that equation to be equal to 0 so it will be solvable. in this case you need to add 13 to both sides. Another approach is to send that - 13 to the other side of the equal sign, and change the sign... this works always.

it doesnt show that u add 13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh! you mean to complete the graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no

if it is just to complete the equation so you can solve it, it is 13
