12a to the second power b what is the polynomial and what degree? can someone explain how to do this to me???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um, a monomial of degree 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did u figure that out???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A monomial is a product of powers of variables. Degree is the power of the highest term.

so all of the questions that have powers to them are monomial ?...

I wouldn't say it's quite as straightforward as that. If it's just single variables (maybe with constants as well) to a power in an expression, then you can say it's a monomial as opposed to the more usual polynomial.
