How do we write things in vector notation? Ie either in Bold or with an arrow above the letter?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\vec{a}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or \[\bf{a}\]

You can right-click either to view the source that you can type into the math blocks.

I use a \bar{} to represent vectors. But some very nice tips here. thanks

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

You'll find \vec works just fine (polpak's first post). The second option, bolding using \textbf, is a little more long-winded. However, it seems to be the approach that is preferred by far in the current literature.
