can some please check and see if i did this problem right. 24 > 10 – 2x Solve using the addition and multiplication principles. Be sure to show all of your work. 24 > 10 – 2x = 24 + 2x <10 = 24 - 24 + 2x <10 - 24 = 2x < -14 = 2x / 2 < -14/2 = x < -7

Looks good. but you really don't need to move the x term to the left...it makes it slightly more complicated since you'd be dividign by -2 (which has an additional rule in inequlities)...but your method is correct. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, the symbol is wrong 24 > 10 -2x 2x + 24 > 10 2x > - 14 x > -7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh...noru's right...didn't notice the flip of the symbol on line 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would also avoid using the = sign between lines. best to just put it on the next line. otherwise, it is technically incorrect statements.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but that's a write-up thing, not a mathematics problem

thanks you guys for the tips i will bring the revise side down under so you can be able to read it clearly so i wont get the problem wrong.
