if a teacher tracels from point M to point O, by first passing through point N, the teacher will have traveled a distance of 225 miles. If the rate of travel while going from point M to point N is 15 miles per hour and the rate of travel while going from point N to point O is 30 miles per hour, and the trip has a total travel time of 9 hours, what is the distance, in miles, from point N to point O?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

suppose she travels x hours from M to N and y hours from N to O then x+y = 9 and 15x+30y = 225 solve for x and y. y is the answer you are looking for

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so y=6 is that the answer?
