Factor the expression 49x^2 -42xy+9y^2 into a product of binomials. So far I have (7x-9y)(7x-9y) I think the 9y is wrong but I do not know what to change it to then? Help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's a perfect square trinomial, and it factors to\[(7x - 3y)^{2}.\]

I was just thinking maybe that last part is -3y. How would I show my work on this? Do I check it by doing FOIL?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, you can check by the FOIL method.

Ok Thank you for your help!
