Please help and show all work,step by step.. Write the equation of the line which passes through (5, –2) and is parallel to x = 4

Can you do the same for this one.. Write the equation of the line which passes through (2, 1) and is perpendicular to x = –2.

Think about it. If the parallel line is always on 4 then it is a vertical line. Since the vertical line must pass through 5,-2 then the line must be x=5 The above answer is wrong.

Perpendicular means they intersect at a 90 degree angle. Therefore the next line should be perfectly horizontal. y=1 works for the second.
