how does the placebo of a drug working, actually administer what the drug would administer. AKA How does a placebo work on the biochemistry scale?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

placebo of drugs are pharmacologically and biochemically inert substances. They are usually used in the study of efficacy, efficiency, side effects etc of new drugs(medical research). They may or may not produce an effect on the subject/patient taking the medication. Example:They produce pain relief in some by placebo effect.......the subjects may think that they are taking the actual (original)medication . http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Placebo
