For example: 2 < x < 5

(2, 5) open interval = {x | 2 < x < 5}
[2, 5] closed interval = 2 ≤ x ≤ 5
(2, 5] half-open interval = 2 < x ≤ 5
[2, 5) half-open interval = 2 ≤ x < 5
