what does double parenthesis mean.. exp: ((46-15)x32)+5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the double parenthesis means do that part of the equation first. so 46-15 first... then multiply it by 32 then add 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It means compute the innermost parentheses first. 46 - 15 resides inside the innermost parentheses...so definitely do those first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then after you do that computation, you don't need the innermost parentheses anymore

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it becomes: (31*32) + 5

Any questions?
