How do you find theoretical probability of a data set?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mmm. I don't know if I understand this, so my answer may not be right. I assume you want the probability distribution function. Probability is defined as a frequency, so I would say repeat the measurement a number N of times, then plot how many times a certain number is extracted in a histogram. This *should* give you the theoretical probability distribution function. Hopefully this will help.
