what is the white number in the blue circle means ?

That white number signifies your level within the group. Your level corresponds to points you accrue from answering and asking questions, from performing actions on the site, and receiving medals for giving good answers. Giving good answers and entering knowledge seeking dialogues with other students is the best way to garner points and medals.
