6 - 2(52 + 7) ÷ 4.

what do you wanna do with this? simplify it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know how to do this Solve t = for p+3r/6 for r.

When evaluating arithmetic expressions, the order of operations is: Simplify all operations inside parentheses. Perform all multiplications and divisions, working from left to right. Perform all additions and subtractions, working from left to right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have to use precedence of mathematical operators first brackets, then division, then multiplication and finally addition. So first 52+7 is evaluated which give 59 then divide that by 4, which gives 14.75, then multiply it by 2 which gives 29.5. now subtract that from 6 you get -23.5

division and multiplication are done with the same precedence in order from left to right.
