Hey friends there is a problem related to the chapter Pressure please help me out : A rectangular wooden bloack has mass of 4 kg . The length ,breadth and height of this wooden block are 50 cm ,25 cm and 10 cm. Find the pressure of the table top : a. When the wooden bloack is kept with its surface 50 cm multiply by 25cm on the table
Please help me
in the question multiply by =\[\times\]
Pressure (P) is the force per unit area applied in a direction perpendicular to the surface of an object. Pressure is defined as force per unit area. It is usually more convenient to use pressure rather than force to describe the influences upon fluid behavior. The standard unit for pressure is the Pascal, which is a Newton per square meter. For an object sitting on a surface, the force pressing on the surface is the weight of the object, but in different orientations it might have a different area in contact with the surface and therefore exert a different pressure.
but please the problem too . I know about what u r telling me
The SI unit for pressure is the pascal (Pa), equal to one newton per square meter (N/m^2 or kg·m^−1·s^−2)
I am saying u to solve the problem
wait, i will be back in a couple of minutes...
ok,no problem..........................
A rectangular wooden block has mass of 4 kg . The length ,breadth and height of this wooden block are 50 cm ,25 cm and 10 cm. Find the pressure of the table top : a. When the wooden block is kept with its surface 50 cm multiply by 25cm on the table Force <----- Has to be In Newton (N) Pressure = -------- Area <----- Has to be in m^2 50 25 Here Area = ----- m x ------ m = 0.5m x 0.25m = 0.125 m^2 100 100 We also have to convert mass to force. We know weight is also a force. so here we have to convert the 4 kg mass to equivalent weight. Weight = m x gravity (for ease of calculation we take gravity as 10 instead of 9.8) = 4 x 10 = 40 N 40 N Therefore Pressure = ---------- = 320 N/m^2 of 320 Pa 0.125 m^2
thanks a lot harkirat
u r welcome...☺
