What will the displacement time graph look like for a 2 dimensional motion?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess it depends. First of all, keep in mind that displacement is not the same thing as distance. That being said, you could obviously draw 2 separate graphs - one for motion in x and one for motion in y. However, you could also draw one for both dimensions. This graph would show the displacement, which would be the hypotenuse of a triangle where one side is the change in x and the other the change in y, in respect to time. So, to answer your question, you could say that it would 'look' just like any other displacement/time-graph.
