A carbon footprint is a way/method of measuring the impact our day-to-day activities have on the environment, and in particular climate change. It relates to the amount of greenhouse gases produced in our day-to-day lives through burning fossil fuels for electricity, heating and transportation etc. and for the products we use which involve production of green house gases etc. The carbon footprint is a measurement of all greenhouse gases we individually produce and has units of tonnes (or kg) of carbon dioxide equivalent. For example a villager living in his village, using methane gas prepared from gobar-gas plant and travelling around on a bicycle has a much smaller carbon footprint as compared to a business tycoon jetting around in his private plane and going from one place to another in a big car.....
