Here is a geometry problem, finding an angle. Quite a few different ways to solve it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I should probably say it's isosceles.

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

Do you want to calculate D? Right?

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

I can help you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Angle EDB, the ? in the diagram.

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

Ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

AB=AC???

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

No I don't think that AB = AC !

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it 55 degrees?

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

But it would be better if we ask estudies

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how u got tat

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no wait, caught a mistake, one sec.

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Hey guys do you know any good GRE math prep books?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Isosceles, AB = AC.

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

almost there..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the answer feels like could be anything <.<

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

yea.. i got this matrix: ...... at the end it's like: 0 0 1 1|10 0 0 1 1|110

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ced +edb = 110

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there shud be sumthin else specified

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

no i got 4 eqns and 4 unknowns.. let me see if i made a mistake

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solved it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im asking not telling

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

wait here let me show u..

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

1 0 1 0 | 160 1 1 0 0 | 80 0 0 1 1 | 90 0 1 0 1 | 110

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

I just checked this matrix it is correct now let me check how i solved it cuz last time i got z+?=10 z+? = 110

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

yes that matrix is impossible to solve.. reduced row echelon form gives u a 0 row..

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

And I used every single piece of information on the graph..

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Joemath do u know any good GRE math subject test review books?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Tatiana Right answer, how about an explanation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't have it yet, but I try to find it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How can u have an answer without an explanation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have half, after that I have to solve trigonom equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you haven't solved it, how do u know the answer is 30?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I find it in Excel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Better give me a bit time to solve equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

equation \[\sin x*\sin80-\sin(20+x)*\sin40=0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to explain where the equation comes from....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Be nice if someone could produce a geometric proof....

OpenStudy (bahrom7893):

Very nice Tatiana_Stebko! How come my method did not work? But that is an elegant solution! Beautiful!
