you can use foxit reader as a PDF reader. It is a good alternet of Adobe Reader.

kindle is d BEST ebook reader

Kindle is best if you don't care about any other functionality than reading ebooks.  And the reason it is best is not so much because of the reader itself, but because it has by far the widest selection of books available.

But if you can afford it, I much prefer the iPad.  It can play Kindle books as well as Barnes and Noble Nook books and books for other e-readers.  And it can do so much more besides.
