For number 4 EG is 42.2cm. If you draw a triangle base at a right angle from E to G it will be 40cm. This will be the same triangle present from A to E, therefore the hypotenuse will be the same for both, thus 42.2cm.

For the last one you can use pythagorean(sp?) theorem: \[50^{2} + (40 + 40 + 35 + 35)^{2} = 25000\] \[\sqrt{25000} = 158.1 = 2(42.2) + 2x\] \[158.1 -84.4 = 2x\] \[x \approx 36.9\]
