Not sure if this is what you're looking for or not. I assume that the 3 is an exponent and the 2 is also. \[4/(x ^{3}y)*y/y + 7/(xy ^{2})*x ^{2}/x ^{2}=(4y-7x ^{2})/(x ^{3}y ^{2})\]
