you are doing part 1? it works, but you will find it impossible to write that in a recursive fashion. So to write in a recursive fashion I wrote it without using .count. It isn't really iterative either I guess.

it does not work with 'atatatghatatat' , 'atat'
returns 2 instead of 4

.count doesn't count over lapping substrings, like sunu says its not our goal

I play Warband. BTW, the python modules of the standard Warband mod (the Native mod) is downloadable from Taleworld's site. I've downloaded it, but is having a hard time to understand it. For a reason, the codes are all enclosed in brackets...

http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,72860.0.html I found this thread with coding tutorials, I watched only the first part where he talks about what software you need, so far. I think you really need the game first, so I stopped watching until I can install the stuff. I saw some examples but it does look a little different, it will take some adjusting to I guess. I think it will be a steep learning curve, for me at least.
