Guys check out http://codegolf.com this site has great coding challenges..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it seems pretty slow though :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

have you seen Project Euler http://projecteuler.net

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope..thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried the bottles of beer one and I couldn't get less than 284 (not including spaces) characters... :( The first ranked user using Python used 181. They cut out about 100 words! Good site, it's interesting because it makes you try to think of other ways to do it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got 214 characters excluding spaces. How these guys do it with lower than 200 characters is beyond me. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct that: It's 224, excluding spaces :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

224! Okay I gotta work out another way...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Actually, scratch that too. Damn those plurals! BTW Joz, watch your code. nottle and bottles make a difference.....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i gave up..after 2 tries..it showed that my output was totally wrong!! idk what was wrong..it looked all the same! :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the proxy errors i get while uploading my solution makes it worse :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Check your plurals, bottle and bottles are different words. That's what thwarted my first attempts.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now that just baffles me. What method do they use to count the characters anyway? My word processor says that my entire code has 339 characters, including spaces. Yet the site says that I have 353?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know if loading a file is OK? like text = openFile(x.txt) because if so i can cut out song from your code using just that line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whoa!! that should be cheating i guess -_-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you guess, but i don't see it being barred from the rules

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know. I mean, we load our script to their site, and I don't see any options anywhere to load an additional file along with the script.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is a shame, Loading a second file would cut down your code an insane amount
