How should I understand the expression "We're on it."?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It means that we are working on the given job or task (and trying to finish it at the earliest." Suppose you give me and another friend the task of preparing a powerpoint presentation on pollution which you need quickly. You call up to check the progress as you need it urgently. When you call both of us are working on the presentation. So I will say " We're on it." Hope that clears it for you.....☺
