What is the next number in the series? 55,47,52,13,39,31,36 They tell me the answer is 9 but I can not figure out how...Ive been looking for an explanation and cant find one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i get -3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol yeah I came up with 31 as a common number and thats as far as i got

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If it's a repeating pattern, it's -3. Look at what's added to each number to get the next one (-8, 5, -39, 26, -8, -5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah I'm thinking they gave me the wrong answer they are practice questions for an interview test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Odd interview. What's it for? They may want to find out if you can spot that it's wrong and how you handle it... or we're wrong in saying that it's wrong... :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):
