Can any body answer this and can you tell me how you did it please thanks . Beth and Victoria compare the number of books they have. Beth says she has twice as many books as Victoria. Victoia says she has 4 fewer books than Beth. Both girls are correct. How many books do they have altogether?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12 books total since victoria has 4 books less than beth and also half of what beth has, Beth has to have 8 books. 4 is half of 8 and also 4 less than 8. now just add total amount of books. 4+8=12

b(2)+v-4 = t This is how the equation is written now u can solve by combining like terms. then multiply and simply.
