Cloud actually means the INTERNET. Its about providing services through internet. Services can be in the form software, platform or complete infrastructure.... If you need CPU, memory or application softwares, just have it through the internet.

Just to clarify, and as explained in the Wikipedia article previously linked, cloud computing does not just mean "the internet". A service offered through cloud computing is not run from a single physical computer, but rather multiple physical computers that run within a network that is utilised as though it was a single computer. This is where the benefits of cloud computing lie, as this means that the resources are combined, and are able to be expanded as needed for any given application. It also allows for redundancy in the case of a failure, for example, of a hard drive which can simply be replaced without causing interruption (in most cases).

as everyone is talking about the benefits of cloud computing, there is a other side of it too i.e. it is a bit of unsecure too because most of the data will be at a single place so if anyone gets into that then that person will have a lot of things in his control.
