What is the sqaure root of pi? a) 3.14 b) 1.7720044 c) 1.7720045 d) None of the above

OpenStudy (anonymous):

pi as in 3.14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c)1.17720045

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c) \[\sqrt{\pi }=1.7720045\] is correct :)

Why is not the answer D (none of the above)? My calculator says square root of pi is 1.77245... This is more of a "how to take a test" question than a math question. Someone who is going to guess may figure that one the two look-alike answers would be correct, and choose among them, presuming 50-50 odds of the answer being B or C. On the other hand, the correct answer requires having a calculator. No insight needed. Terrible question. Shame on the textbook writer or instructor for sloppy teaching.
