Calculus integral problem:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\int_0^1 3-3\sqrt[5]{x}dx\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks satellite. Excellent as usual, the answer is 0.5

OpenStudy (zarkon):

$$\int_{0}^{3}\left(\frac{y}{3}\right)^5dy$$

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[=3\int _0^1(1-\sqrt[5]{x})dx\] \[=3-\int_0^1x^{\frac{1}{5}}\] etc

OpenStudy (zarkon):

they asked for it to be a dy integral

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think he just switched the variable y for x, it is still the same answer though

OpenStudy (zarkon):

sure...but if one of my students answered this way I wouldn't count it.
