Is Greed the only reason behind all wars?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not necessarily, it might be one of the reason but there are also other reasons such as territorial dispute or self defense mechanism.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Territorial dispute is also caused by one side's greed, right? And I think it's the same for self defense mechanism as well.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it can be that greed causes all this but not always as during WW1 France and Germany fought for Alsace Lorraine. And both seem to claim it was part of their country even though it didn't have much value as land. And I would say defense mechanism would be an example for Wars fought by Israel after WW2. They were fighting to keep their land.

seems like no one can see the big picture, but basically there is no world power so each country does what is best for itself, and there is no world governing power to regulate a countries actions... yet. A country needs constant expansion in territory resources and assets due to a growing population and finite resources ect... basically if we don't expand another will and we will fall to their will and what they want of us.

also, the Spanish Armada was partly because of greed. The Spanish King loved his gold and silver, but so did the English. So they went into war, among other reasons.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No theres also Jelousy and Power or just because they have something another country had but the other country won't give it to them therefore causing war.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Mr. learn, That is the greed for power, isn't it? Zemodontgetit, Isn't greed behind all what You said?
