what is n finite?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you mean infinite???? Infinite means 1. immeasurably great (e.g. an infinite capacity for forgiveness.) 2. indefinitely or exceedingly great (e.g. infinite sums of money.) 3. unlimited or unmeasurable in extent of space, duration of time, etc.: the infinite nature of outer space.

In mathematics, anything which is not infinite, is finite. Which is a pretty crappy definition but there it is. Intuitively it just means you can always add 1 to n to get a new n.
