why are we able to sip hot tea or milk faster from a saucer rather than a cup?

saucer has a larger area of contact with milk/tea.(and provides greater area of contact with air), which absorbs more heat from milk/tea and makes it cool faster compared to a cup.

Also, the larger area provides a greater rate of evaporation which increases the cooling rate of the liquid.
