I get is as:\[3/5a +8 = 2\] with a being in place of "a number" \[3/5a =-6\] in getting rid of the 5 on the left hand side (multiplying both side by 5\[3a =-6*5\] solving for a \[a =(-6*5)/3 = -30/3 = -10\]The answer is\[-10\]
